Recently took my son for a lesson. Very friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable coaches, great facilities. Totally recommend.
Friendly boxing club London
Most people searching for a friendly boxing club are not asking for soft training. They want proper boxing in a room where they will be coached, noticed and treated with respect from the first session.
Friendliest is not something we can prove across London. What we can show is the culture we design for: no cold introductions, no beginner humiliation, no pressure to spar, and coaches who set the tone.
For nervous adult beginners, returners, women, parents and people who want serious coaching without ego. First scheduled group class free. Personal training is paid separately.
Decision criteria
A friendly boxing club is not just one where people smile. It should make the first session understandable and safe without lowering standards.
01
The coach knows who is new and explains what to do before the class starts.
02
Beginners are not thrown into sparring or partner drills they cannot handle.
03
Regular members understand the room standard and help new people settle.
04
The class has structure, so you are not left guessing what happens next.
05
Questions are welcomed, especially about kit, fitness, nerves and class choice.
06
There is a route back if you are returning after time away from sport.
H&G approach
The point is not to hide behind a careful headline. The page should help you decide whether the club is a serious fit.
The free class route tells us who is coming in and which class they should try first.
Adult Recreational is built for real boxing skill and fitness without sparring pressure.
Women can choose the women-only Saturday class if that feels like the right first step.
Parents can use Junior Recreational for a child trying boxing before joining properly.
Evidence and routes
These are the pages to inspect if you want specifics rather than marketing adjectives.
A friendly gym should remove unknowns before you arrive. The free class page explains what happens and what to bring.
Free class guideIf nerves are the blocker, Adult Beginners is the safest commercial route to inspect first.
Adult beginner routeIf mixed classes feel like too much for the first step, the women-only class gives a specific option.
Women's boxingLocal fit
The club is in Kidbrooke, close to Greenwich and Blackheath, with members travelling from Lewisham, Woolwich, Charlton, Eltham, Bromley and Bexley. The right club is the one you can actually return to after the first class.
Member and parent reviews
Reviews cannot prove a city-wide superlative, but they help you understand what people repeatedly notice about the club.

The class with John was excellent. First time doing boxing training and he was patient as well as extremely informative when explaining the beginner boxing fundamentals. Highly recommend this class to someone hesitating to start at the beginning.

Questions before you book
We do not make that absolute claim. We focus on a friendly, coached first-session experience and let visitors judge the room for themselves.
No. Beginner and recreational routes focus on coaching, pads, bags, footwork and fitness. Sparring is separate.
Yes. Most people do. The coaches know who is new and will help you settle into the class.
