These terms cover your membership and participation at Honour & Glory Boxing Club. By joining or attending sessions, you agree to follow these guidelines. They exist to keep everyone safe and ensure the club runs smoothly.

Membership and payments

  • Session fees are payable on the day or in advance via our booking system
  • We offer pay-as-you-go and block booking options - see our classes page for current prices
  • Refunds are given at our discretion for sessions cancelled by the club
  • If you need to cancel, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer your spot to someone else
  • Competitive boxers must maintain a valid England Boxing membership

Health and safety

  • You must declare any medical conditions, injuries, or medications that could affect your training
  • If you feel unwell during a session, tell a coach immediately
  • Coaches have the final say on whether you can participate - if they think you're not fit to train, their decision is final
  • For juniors, parents/guardians must provide emergency contact details and consent for first aid treatment
  • Boxing carries inherent risks - you participate at your own risk and should ensure you have appropriate insurance if competing

Conduct and behaviour

We're a community club built on mutual respect. We expect all members to:

  • Treat coaches, staff, and fellow members with respect at all times
  • Follow coach instructions during training
  • Keep the gym clean and tidy - put equipment back where you found it
  • Arrive on time and ready to train
  • Wear appropriate training kit and footwear
  • Use your own hand wraps and gumshield (club gloves available for beginners)

Zero tolerance: Bullying, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, or abuse of any kind will result in immediate removal from the club. No exceptions.

Sparring

  • Sparring is only permitted with coach supervision and approval
  • You must have the appropriate protective equipment (headguard, gumshield, groin guard, appropriate gloves)
  • Coaches will match you with suitable partners based on skill level, size, and experience
  • Hard sparring is only for competitive boxers with coach permission
  • Anyone sparring recklessly or ignoring safety guidelines will be removed from the session

Children and safeguarding

  • All our coaches are DBS-checked and safeguarding trained
  • Parents/guardians must complete a registration form for all under-18s
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who remains on-site during training
  • We follow England Boxing safeguarding policies - see their website for full details
  • Any concerns about a child's welfare should be reported to the Head Coach or Club Welfare Officer immediately

Photography and media

  • We may take photos and videos during sessions for promotional and social media use
  • If you'd rather not be photographed, just let us know
  • For juniors, we require written parental consent before using any images
  • Personal photography/filming during sessions requires coach permission

Liability

Honour & Glory Boxing Club is a registered charity. While we maintain appropriate insurance and take all reasonable precautions, boxing is a contact sport with inherent risks. By participating, you accept these risks. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings - please don't leave valuables unattended.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to members directly. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance.
