Walking into a boxing gym for the first time can feel intimidating. Walking into one full of blokes even more so. That's why this class exists.
Our women's session is a proper boxing class - same technique, same training, same quality coaching - in a women-only space. Whether you've never thrown a punch or you've been boxing for years, you'll get a workout and learn something every week.
The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, but make no mistake - you'll work hard. This isn't a watered-down version of boxing. It's the real thing.
WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE
WARM-UP (15 mins)
Skipping, shadow boxing, movement drills. You'll start to recognise the routine after a few sessions. If you can't skip yet, you'll pick it up - everyone trips over the rope at first.
TECHNIQUE (20 mins)
The coach breaks down a combination or defensive move. You practise it step by step, then put it together. Beginners and experienced boxers work side by side - the coaches make sure everyone's challenged at the right level.
PAD WORK & BAGS (30 mins)
You'll pair up on pads and work the heavy bags. Rounds are timed - three minutes on, one minute rest. This is the best part. There's something deeply satisfying about landing a clean combination on the pads.
CONDITIONING & STRETCH (15 mins)
Core work, bodyweight exercises, then a proper cool-down stretch. The session is 90 minutes and you'll use every one of them.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
FIRST-TIMERS
Never set foot in a boxing gym? You're in good company. Most women in this class started as complete beginners. The environment is welcoming and the pace is yours to set.
WANT SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Done with spin classes and HIIT circuits? Boxing uses your brain as much as your body. You won't zone out - you'll be too busy thinking about where your feet should be.
PREFER WOMEN-ONLY SPACES
Whatever your reason - comfort, confidence, preference - this is your space. No need to explain it.
EXPERIENCED BOXERS
If you've boxed before and want quality training in a women-only setting, this is it. The coaching is the same standard as all our classes.
WHY WOMEN LOVE IT
You'll actually learn to box. Proper stance, proper technique, proper combinations. After a few weeks you'll notice the difference.
The workout is unreal. Boxing burns more calories than running, and it's more interesting. You'll build strength, speed, and stamina without it feeling like a chore.
Stress relief that works. A bad day at work looks different after 90 minutes on the pads. It's physical, it's focused, and it clears your head like nothing else.
A community. The Saturday morning regulars become familiar faces fast. It's a good group of women who look out for each other.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Will I get hit?
No. You'll hit pads and bags, not each other. There's no sparring unless you specifically want to try it (and most people don't).
I'm really unfit - will I cope?
Yes. You go at your own pace. The coaches know who's new and they'll look after you. Nobody finishes their first session feeling great - but they come back.
What should I wear?
Leggings or shorts, a t-shirt, and trainers. We have gloves you can borrow. Bring water.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Most people do. You'll be paired up during the session so you'll meet people straight away.
