Normal first step
Junior Recreational is the usual starting point for most Lewisham children and teenagers. It focuses on listening, movement, balance, stance, bags, pads and controlled effort.
Junior RecreationalParent-first junior route
A clear way for Lewisham parents to test Junior Recreational before choosing regular boxing for a child or teenager.
For Lewisham parents, kids boxing should start with fit and safety, not hype. Honour and Glory runs junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym, with Junior Recreational as the usual group-class start for children aged 7 to 16. The first session gives parents a practical way to judge whether the room, coaching style and travel work for the child.
A first class is not about rushing a child towards sparring or competition. It should show whether your child can listen, follow simple instructions and settle into stance, guard, footwork, bags and pads. That tells you more than a class name on its own.
Junior Competitive is a later pathway for young boxers who are ready for a more committed route. It is not the day-one promise. If your child needs a slower introduction, private correction or a family-specific arrangement, use the paid Lewisham personal training route or message before booking the group trial.
Use the links below to choose by person and purpose before booking. If you are choosing for a child, start with the junior route. If you are new as an adult, start with the beginner route. If you want women-specific training, use the women's route. If price or private coaching matters, check the current prices or the Lewisham PT route first.
If you are unsure, keep the first decision small: pick the route that matches the person training, check the travel plan from Lewisham, and use WhatsApp before booking if group class, paid PT, age fit or class pace needs a human answer.

Paid PT can suit children who need a slower introduction, individual correction or a smaller setting before joining a group class.
Paid PTThe Kidbrooke gym is at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND. From Lewisham, the simplest checks are the direct train to Kidbrooke and the final walk, Lewisham buses towards Kidbrooke, or the car route with venue parking. If travel, price or class fit is uncertain, message before booking.
The direct train to Kidbrooke plus the final walk can suit families checking the first class. Drivers can use the A20, Lee Green or the A2 approach and venue parking.
Bring water, comfortable sports clothing and trainers. Gloves can be discussed with the club if you are new and unsure what to buy.

No. A first group trial is about basics, listening, movement, bags and pads, not pressure to spar.
Parents should use the first visit to check the room, the coach instructions and whether the class is right for their child.
