Boxing Classes for Beginners Near Falconwood
Starting boxing from Falconwood means making an 11-minute journey to Kidbrooke. Once you are there, the beginner experience at Honour and Glory is one of the more structured in south east London.
The gym is at 122 Broad Walk, Kidbrooke, SE3 8ND. Recreational adult sessions run Monday to Friday, 7:30pm to 9pm, at ยฃ10 per session.
What Beginners Actually Need
The biggest mistake first-time boxers make is assuming they should know something before they start. You do not. The sessions are structured from the ground up: stance, guard, movement, the basic punch mechanics. Coaches start there with every new member.
By the third or fourth session, most beginners have a working stance and can throw the main combinations without thinking too hard about their hands. Footwork takes a bit longer. Defensive habits take longer still. But the progression is clear and the coaches track it.
The Coach-to-Beginner Relationship
ABA qualifications and BBBofC licences are not just credentials. They indicate coaches who understand how to break down technique, identify errors, and correct them. For a beginner, that structured correction in the first few months is what determines whether you develop good habits or bad ones.

Most people who have tried boxing at a commercial gym and then come to H&G notice the difference in coaching immediately.
What You Need to Bring
Water bottle. Comfortable training clothes. Hand wraps if you have them, borrowed if you do not. Gloves available to borrow initially. That is the full list.
The Falconwood Mindset
Falconwood residents are generally grounded and practical. The appeal of boxing for a lot of people from this area is the same: it is a skill worth learning, the price is reasonable, and the commitment is flexible. ยฃ10 per session with no strings attached suits people who want to try something properly without signing up for a year.
