Sunday Boxing: Hayes, Bromley

If you live in Hayes and want to box on a Sunday, the local options do not exist. The boxing gyms in the immediate area close for the weekend or only run Saturday mornings. For anyone whose schedule revolves around weekend availability, that is a problem.

Honour and Glory Boxing Club is 18 minutes from Hayes by car and runs open sessions every Sunday (and Saturday) from 8:30am to 2:30pm.

How It Works

No booking. No membership required. Turn up within the session window, pay on the door, and train. The gym is open for six hours, so you come when it suits you and stay as long as you want.

The coaches are there throughout. If you are a beginner, they will show you the basics and supervise your session. If you are experienced, they will hold pads and push your work rate. Everyone trains in the same space regardless of level.

Bags, a ring, gloves, wraps, skipping ropes - everything you need is available. Just bring sportswear and a water bottle.

Getting to Kidbrooke From Hayes

Drive via the A232 and A20. On a Sunday morning with empty roads, you can be at the gym in under 15 minutes. Free parking at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND.

By train (if running on Sundays), Hayes to Lewisham then one stop to Kidbrooke. About 45 minutes including the walk from the station.

Why It Works

Pay-as-you-go pricing means you are not locked into a contract for a session you might only attend some weeks. If you come every Sunday, great. If you skip a fortnight, you do not pay for it. No cancellation notice, no direct debits, no minimum term.

Recreational adult classes are £10/session. Competitive training is £5.
