Kids Boxing Classes Near Blackheath
Blackheath has some of south east London's best primary schools and a parent community that pays attention to quality. If you are looking for a sport that develops physical ability, focus, and the discipline to stay calm under pressure, boxing at Honour and Glory in Kidbrooke is seven minutes from Blackheath.
Classes run weekdays from 5pm at 122 Broad Walk, Kidbrooke, SE3 8ND.
Two Age Groups, Distinct Programmes
Infants (ages 7 to 9): The younger group focuses on movement, coordination, and basic punching technique at the right pace for the age. Sessions build habits: active feet, guard up, listening and adjusting to instructions. Children at this age pick up technique well when it is introduced progressively and consistently.
Juniors (ages 10 to 16): More technical content, longer pad rounds with coaches, bag work, and the option to compete in ABA amateur bouts when readiness is confirmed. The step up in intensity from the infants programme is deliberate. Teenagers who are ready for challenge benefit from it.
What Blackheath Parents Notice
The common observation from families who drive over from Blackheath is that the club does not talk down to children. The coaches set clear standards, correct errors directly, and expect improvement. That is exactly the kind of environment that produces confident, focused young athletes.

The feedback loop is tight. Throw a combination correctly and you know it. Drop your guard and the coach points it out immediately. Children who respond well to honest, clear instruction do well here.
Safety and Coach Qualifications
All coaches are DBS checked. The club is ABA affiliated. Children work pads with coaches from their first session. Free sparring is only introduced when a coach has assessed the child as technically and temperamentally ready. The progression is structured and documented, not improvised.
