What is white collar boxing?
White collar boxing events pair up complete beginners for a controlled bout after a set period of training, usually 6 to 8 weeks. Events are typically held at hotels or function venues in a black tie format, with ticket sales going to charity. The largest organiser in the UK is Ultra White Collar Boxing, which runs events in over 100 cities in partnership with Boxing Futures charity.
The format is lighter than amateur boxing. Bouts are usually 3 x 1.5-minute or 3 x 2-minute rounds, with headguards and 16oz gloves. Matchmakers pair fighters by weight, age and experience to keep things as even as possible.

Training for white collar at Honour and Glory
White collar boxing sits outside the amateur and professional structures. These events are designed for complete beginners who want to experience competition in a controlled, time-limited way. If you are interested in white collar boxing, the training at Honour and Glory will prepare you well - though we would always encourage members to consider the full amateur pathway too.
Our recreational adult sessions cover all the fundamentals you would need. If you are preparing for a specific event, speak to one of our coaches about focused preparation. We also run a dedicated 10-week white collar training programme on Friday evenings.
Many of our members have started with a white collar event and gone on to get their amateur card. It is a perfectly valid entry point into the sport.
Last updated: March 2026. White collar events are run by independent promoters. Check their websites for the latest information and registration details.
