Misfits Boxing was founded by KSI, Mams Taylor, Kalle Sauerland and Nisse Sauerland. The promotion describes its beginnings as a partnership under the Wasserman Boxing banner. KSI is a co-founder, and Taylor publicly described him as an equity partner in November 2025. That is a firmer answer to the ownership question than assuming whoever is announced as CEO owns the whole business.
There is a recent development too. On 10 October 2026, Sports Illustrated reported that KSI announced his return as Misfits CEO at the Copper Box Arena in London. The report distinguished that executive return from a return to fighting.
The founders, the person running the promotion and the broadcaster all matter. They do different jobs, and mixing them together is how a fairly straightforward question becomes confusing.

Who founded Misfits Boxing?
The promotion's own account of its founding partnership names KSI, Mams Taylor, Kalle Sauerland and Nisse Sauerland. It places the launch in August 2022 under Wasserman Boxing.
There was a public announcement before the first show. DAZN's launch release, dated 15 July 2022, described a KSI-led promotional company formed with his management team at Proper Loud and the Sauerland brothers at Wasserman Boxing. It announced the first X Series event for 27 August at The O2 in London.
Those dates describe different steps: the July announcement and the August launch. Neither makes Misfits the beginning of influencer boxing itself. KSI already had an audience and a boxing history before this particular promotion existed.
If the whole format is new to you, our Misfits Boxing explainer covers the basic idea. Here, the useful question is who supplied the different parts of the business.
What do KSI, Mams Taylor and the Sauerlands do?
The founding partnership brought together a recognisable public figure, talent management and boxing promotion. In the original announcements, the responsibilities were described like this:
- KSI was named CEO and was the headline attraction around whom the first event was promoted.
- Mams Taylor was identified as Misfits president and CEO of Proper Loud. Later official announcements used the title co-president of Misfits.
- Kalle Sauerland represented the boxing promotion side through Wasserman Boxing and was also identified as Misfits co-president.
- Nisse Sauerland is named alongside Kalle among the founders in Misfits' own account.
That last distinction is worth keeping clear. Being named as a founder does not, by itself, tell a reader somebody's present job description, voting rights or percentage ownership. The public announcements are useful evidence of the partnership; they are not a complete shareholder register.
For a viewer, the practical point is simple. A familiar face can draw attention to a card, but staging it also requires matchmaking, a venue, ticketing, broadcast arrangements and an event team. The name on the poster does not explain every decision behind the show.

Does KSI still own part of Misfits?
There is a clear, dated statement about his equity. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show on 3 November 2025, Mams Taylor said KSI remained an equity partner while discussing why he was no longer suited to the CEO role at that time. Sports Illustrated's report of the interview records that distinction.
That supports saying Taylor publicly confirmed KSI's ownership interest in November 2025. It does not establish a percentage, prove that KSI was the sole owner, or provide a complete account of subsequent share transactions.
The October 2026 report of his return as CEO concerns his executive position. We have not found a published ownership breakdown in the announcements linked here, so we would not attach an exact percentage to his stake.
For the same reason, claims that somebody owns “all of Misfits” need more than a promotional video or a headline about a new CEO.
What happened with Andrew Tate and the CEO role?
In October 2025, Misfits announced Andrew Tate as its new CEO in place of KSI. Taylor discussed that decision in the November interview above, while also saying KSI retained equity.
Fast-forward to 10 October 2026 and the reporting changed: KSI announced his return as CEO at the Essex versus Dapper event in London. That is why an answer copied from the 2025 announcement can now give readers the wrong impression about the latest publicly reported leadership.
Neither announcement, taken on its own, establishes that the entire company was bought or sold. An executive appointment and a transfer of ownership are separate questions. We would want specific evidence of a sale before describing either change as somebody buying Misfits.
This also means a fighter's retirement, absence from a card or decision to stop competing does not automatically answer whether they retain an interest in the promotion. Fighting and running a business are different commitments.
Does DAZN own Misfits Boxing?
DAZN is the broadcast partner named in the launch announcements. The January 2023 five-year partnership announcement described an agreement to broadcast KSI fights and MF & DAZN: X Series events. It named KSI, Wasserman Boxing, Mams Taylor and the Misfits team as partners in that arrangement.
That announcement describes a broadcasting deal. It does not announce DAZN buying Misfits Boxing. Seeing both names in an event title therefore does not establish that the broadcaster owns the promotion.
The same care applies to the word “professional”. A broadcaster, a promoter and the body supervising a particular contest have different responsibilities. Our guide to Misfits Boxing, professional status and records explains why a logo or belt alone cannot settle how a bout should be classified.
What does this mean if you want to box on Misfits?
Knowing the founders is background information, not an application route. A public figure's name is not an invitation to send them medical documents, pay an intermediary or assume a direct message will secure a fight.
Start with your own position. A complete beginner needs coaching and an honest assessment of their readiness. An experienced boxer may have a coach or manager who can discuss suitable opportunities. An established creator still needs the sporting preparation as well as the audience.
