Junior Recreational
The normal group-class start for children aged 7 to 16. Use it to test listening, coach fit, movement and the class environment.
Junior routeChoose the right first class for your child
A practical guide for Welling parents deciding whether junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym is right for their child.
Welling parents are usually trying to answer a practical question: will this class suit my child? Honour and Glory runs junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym, close enough for Welling families to test with a free group-class trial before choosing regular training.
The normal starting point is Junior Recreational for children aged 7 to 16. The first class is not about rushing a child towards sparring or competition. It is about listening, stance, balance, guard, footwork, bags, pads and controlled effort in a supervised room. Parents can use that first session to judge whether the structure works.
If your child is nervous, very new to group sport, older and already ambitious, or likely to need more individual correction, ask before booking. The free trial is for group classes. Paid PT is available as a separate route for children who need a private start or focused support.
The parent job is not to predict the whole pathway on day one. It is to choose the right first class, watch how your child responds, and then ask whether regular Junior Recreational, a later competitive pathway or paid one-to-one support makes most sense. That keeps the decision grounded in what you actually see.
Use the links below to choose by person and purpose before booking. If you are choosing for a child, start with the junior route. If you are new as an adult, start with the beginner route. If you want women-specific training, use the women's route. If price or private coaching matters, check the current prices or the Welling PT route first.

Junior routeA more committed pathway can be discussed later for children who are ready. It should not be treated as the first-session promise.
Use PT if your child needs a quieter start, individual correction, family scheduling or a more controlled introduction.
Welling PTThe Kidbrooke gym is at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND. From Welling, the simplest checks are the A207 car route, venue parking, Bus 89 or Bus 486 links, and whether the class route fits the person training. If the travel, price or class fit is uncertain, message before booking.
Watch whether your child listens, follows instructions, handles the pace, feels safe and responds to correction. That is the real value of the first trial.
The A207 car route is usually the simplest Welling family option. Check drop-off, pick-up and venue parking before deciding on regular training.
Message first if you are unsure about age fit, group readiness or whether paid one-to-one coaching would be better.
Junior Recreational is the normal group route for ages 7 to 16.
The free trial applies to scheduled group classes. PT is paid separately.
Look for calm supervision, clear instructions, controlled effort and whether your child wants to come back.
