Teenagers do not all need the same boxing route. Some want a new sport, some want fitness, some want a more serious training room, and some already talk about competing. For Lee families, the useful first step is to separate those goals before booking anything.

Honour and Glory trains juniors at the Kidbrooke gym, 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND. From Lee, the club is close enough to test properly by train, bus or car, but the class fit still matters more than the map. Start with the route that matches the young person now, not the route they might want in a year's time.

For a full parent decision route, use the teen boxing near Lee guide. It explains the first class, the competitive pathway, travel choices and when paid private coaching may be more appropriate than a group-class trial.

The normal first route

Most teenagers should start with Junior Recreational. It is the normal first group-class route for juniors who need structure, coaching fundamentals and a clear first read on the gym. No boxing background is needed for that route.

Junior Recreational is not a soft option. Teenagers still need to listen, work, reset and accept correction. The difference is that it lets coaches see how they handle the room before any more committed pathway decision is made.

Parents can also read the wider Lee kids boxing route and Lee parents guide if the young person is new to sport, nervous about starting, or unsure what a boxing class will feel like.

When competitive boxing becomes relevant

Some older juniors want a competitive pathway. That can be a good aim, but it should not be the first promise. Competitive Boxing is for juniors who coaches judge suitable for a more committed route over time.

That judgement depends on consistency, safe control, coachability, attitude and the parent's understanding of the commitment. A teenager can be ambitious without being ready immediately. A good first trial should give everyone a clearer view of what the next step should be.

Free trial or paid PT

The free trial is for scheduled group classes. Use it if your teenager is ready to try a coached junior session.

If they need individual support before joining a group, use the paid Lee personal training route or message first. PT is private coaching and is arranged separately from the group-class trial.
