Parent decision support

Dartford parents guide to the first kids boxing trial

Use the first junior session to check supervision, age fit, coaching tone, parking and whether your child is ready for the group route.

Parents in Dartford are usually making a bigger decision than choosing an after-school activity. You want to know whether the junior class is structured, whether your child will be supervised, whether the coach can hold the room and whether the club in Kidbrooke works for regular training.

Junior Recreational is the normal first route from age 7. It is a coached group class focused on listening, balance, stance, guard, footwork, bags, pads and controlled effort. It is not a promise that your child will compete, and it is not a substitute for paid one to one coaching.

Use the first visit as a calm check. Watch how your child responds to instructions, whether they understand the pace and whether they want to return. If they need individual support first, message the club and ask about paid PT. If the group route fits, book the junior trial and make the decision after seeing the room.

When PT is better

Paid personal training can help if your child needs a quieter start or individual feedback before joining a group.

PT options

First visit

Make the decision after seeing the room

Bring your child in comfortable sports clothes with trainers and water. Arrive a few minutes early so the first impression is not rushed. Tell the coach if your child is nervous, new to sport or likely to need clearer instructions.

After the session, keep the decision practical. Did your child listen? Did the class feel controlled? Did the travel work? Did the coach give enough structure? If yes, the group route is probably the right start. If no, ask whether PT or a later attempt is more sensible.

When price matters

Check current prices before booking if you are comparing group classes with paid private coaching. The free trial is for scheduled group classes, not personal training.

If you are unsure
