For Charlton families
A parent-first route for choosing junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym without guessing from a timetable.
Parent checklist
For Charlton parents, the decision is practical before it is sporting. You are checking whether the junior class feels organised, whether your child understands the coach, whether parents can see enough of the setup and whether the Kidbrooke gym works for your family.
Junior Recreational is the normal first group route from age 7. Children start with age-aware basics, listening, movement, controlled effort, bags and pads. Junior Competitive is a later pathway for suitable older juniors, not the point of the first visit.
The free trial is for the scheduled junior group class. If your child needs one-to-one help, individual correction or a slower start, use the paid personal training route separately before booking.
Start with Junior Recreational for children and teenagers learning boxing in a supervised group setting.
Junior RecreationalUse the Charlton kids page if you want class and first-session details before booking.

Logistics
From Charlton, driving to the Kidbrooke gym is usually the simplest first visit because parking is on site and the route is direct enough to test after school or at the weekend. If you use public transport, check the bus connection before booking.
Bring your child in normal sports kit and trainers, bring water, and arrive ready to say it is their first junior session. After the class, judge whether they understood the instructions, felt safe in the room and wanted to come back.
Yes. Parents and guardians can watch, especially while a child is new to the club.
Normal sports kit, trainers and water are enough for the first trial unless the team tells you otherwise.
No. Competition is a later pathway for suitable juniors. The first route is Junior Recreational.
