Parent route
A parent-first guide for Charlton families checking junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym.
First route
For Charlton children and teenagers, the normal first route is Junior Recreational. It is built for children learning stance, balance, movement, listening, basic boxing control, bag work and pad work in a supervised class setting.
The free trial is for the scheduled junior group class. Use it to check the room, how instructions are given, how your child responds and whether the club feels organised enough for regular training. If your child needs private correction or a slower individual start, message about paid personal training separately.
Competition is not the first-session assumption. Junior Competitive is a later pathway for suitable older juniors who want that route. Most Charlton parents should judge the first visit on structure, supervision and whether their child wants to come back.
The normal first group-class route for children and teenagers learning boxing basics safely.

Charlton practicalities
From Charlton, the class is close enough that the real test is not a long travel story. It is whether parking, arrival, class timing and coaching tone make the Kidbrooke gym realistic for your family each week.
Bring your child in normal sports kit and trainers, bring water, and arrive ready to tell the coach it is their first session. Parents can use the first visit to watch the setup, ask sensible questions and decide after seeing the room rather than guessing from a timetable.
Junior Recreational is the normal first route from age 7, with Junior Competitive available later for suitable young boxers on the competition pathway.
Yes. Parents and guardians can watch, especially while a child is settling into the club.
Most children should test Junior Recreational first. Use paid PT only if your child needs a private start, individual correction or parent-led advice before joining a group.
