Junior routeChoose the right first class for your child
A practical guide for Falconwood parents deciding whether junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym is right for their child.
Choose your route
The normal group-class start for children aged 7 to 16. Use it to test listening, coach fit, movement and the class environment.
Junior routeA more committed pathway can be discussed later for children who are ready. It should not be treated as the first-session promise.
Use PT if your child needs a quieter start, individual correction, family scheduling or a more controlled introduction.
Falconwood PTFalconwood parents are usually trying to answer a practical question: will this class suit my child? Honour and Glory runs junior boxing at the Kidbrooke gym, close enough for Falconwood families to test with a free group-class trial before choosing regular training.
The normal starting point is Junior Recreational for children aged 7 to 16. The first class is not about rushing a child towards sparring or competition. It is about listening, stance, balance, guard, footwork, bags, pads and controlled effort in a supervised room. Parents can use that first session to judge whether the structure works.
If your child is nervous, very new to group sport, older and already ambitious, or likely to need more individual correction, ask before booking. The free trial is for group classes. Paid PT is available as a separate route for children who need a private start or focused support.
First visit
Watch whether your child listens, follows instructions, handles the pace, feels safe and responds to correction. That is the real value of the first trial. You are not trying to decide a long-term pathway immediately. You are checking whether the first group route works.
If the group room feels like too much, do not force it. Message the club and ask whether paid PT, a slower start or another class route is better. The right first step should protect trust with your child and give the coach a fair chance to help.
Use the A2, Rochester Way or local roads toward Kidbrooke, then head for the club at 122 Broad Walk. Check live traffic, arrive a few minutes early and use the free parking at the gym so the first session starts calmly.
Open driving directionsFalconwood station links toward Kidbrooke, then there is the final walk to the gym. Bus options from the Falconwood, Welling and Shooters Hill edges can also work, but check the live route before leaving.
Open transit directionsUse the current prices route when cost matters. The free trial is for scheduled group classes only, while personal training is a paid private route with a different booking process.
Check pricesWhatsApp first if you are choosing for a nervous child, comparing group classes with paid PT, returning after time away or deciding between women-specific and mixed adult sessions.
Ask on WhatsAppHonour and Glory is a community boxing club in Kidbrooke with structured coaching for juniors, adult beginners, women, fitness-focused members and competitive pathways where appropriate.
Falconwood visitors can use one first group-class trial to check the room, coaching tone, parking, travel and whether regular training at the Kidbrooke gym is realistic.
Free trials stay with scheduled group classes. Paid personal training is separate, enquiry led and useful when a private start is better than joining a group straight away.
