Proper boxing training for ages 7-16. ABA affiliated, DBS checked coaches.
WHY BOXING FOR KIDS?
CONFIDENCE
Learning to box builds real self-belief. Kids who train with us carry themselves differently - in school, at home, everywhere. It comes from knowing what they are capable of.
DISCIPLINE
Boxing demands focus, respect, and self-control. Our coaches set high standards and kids rise to meet them. The structure of training carries into everything else they do.
FITNESS
Skipping, pad work, bag work, footwork drills. Boxing is one of the most physically demanding sports there is, and kids love it because it never feels like exercise.
COMMUNITY
We are a community club, not a chain gym. Kids train alongside each other, support each other, and build friendships that last. Parents are always welcome to watch.

PARENTS' QUESTIONS
Is boxing safe for children?
Non-contact boxing for children involves no punching between participants. Children work on bags, pads with coaches, and shadow drills. There is no sparring between children in our infants or recreational junior classes. The risk of injury is comparable to gymnastics or football, and considerably lower than most contact team sports.
What age can children start boxing?
We accept children from age 7. The infants programme (ages 7 to 9) focuses on coordination, basic movement, and pad work with coaches rather than technique-heavy instruction. Children in this group progress at their own pace. From age 10, children move into the recreational juniors class where the coaching becomes more structured and technically demanding.
Does my child have to compete?
No. The majority of our junior members train purely for fitness, confidence, and enjoyment. Competition is available through our junior amateur programme for children who want it, but it is never expected or encouraged as a default. Your child leads on whether they want to take that step.
What does my child need to bring?
For the first session, sportswear and clean trainers is all they need. We provide gloves and any other equipment for the trial. Once they join, you will need to buy hand wraps and a gumshield (around £10-15 total). Gloves can be provided by the club in the early weeks while you decide what fits. We will advise on what to buy and when.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch at every session. We ask that parents let the coaches do their job without interference during the session itself, but you are absolutely welcome to be present. Many parents find they enjoy watching as much as their children enjoy training.
What does it cost?
Group classes start from £5 per session. There is no joining fee and no contract. The first session is free so you can come along and see whether it is the right fit before committing to anything. We are a community club and keep pricing accessible by design.
Are your coaches qualified and DBS checked?
Every coach at Honour and Glory holds a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate and is ABA qualified. The club is ABA affiliated and follows all safeguarding guidelines required for junior boxing in the UK. Safeguarding documentation is available on request.
