Future focus
In 15 months
Opposite-stance month makes southpaw and orthodox matchups less mysterious. Members learn lead-foot position, lead-hand traffic and safe exits from the rear-hand lane.
What
Orthodox vs southpaw stance, lead-foot position, lead-hand battle, rear-hand lane and exits away from danger.
How
Coaches can use stance-line drills, lead-hand games, rear-hand lane pads and controlled partner rounds with clear orthodox/southpaw roles.
Monthly pathway
Start with the active block, look ahead to the next one, then keep last month as a reference rather than the first card.
Why it matters
Opposite-stance boxing feels confusing until the boxer understands feet, lanes and where the rear hand travels.
The KB southpaw clips repeatedly return to feet, lanes and lead-hand control. Those are the safe foundations for juniors and adults.
For juniors, this month is not about switching stance randomly. It is about understanding what changes when the opponent stands the other way.
Coaches will be watching lead-foot battles, safe exits away from the rear hand and whether the boxer can keep their stance under confusion.

Study video ↗What classes will feel like
Week 1
Orthodox and southpaw shape, lead feet, rear-hand lane and basic safety.
Week 2
Lead-hand touch, block and jab games without power.
Week 3
Step to lane, straight rear hand, exit before standing square.
Week 4
Light technical rounds with one stance objective only.
Example drills
Beginners
Partners stand orthodox/southpaw and mark outside/inside foot position.
Teach the map before punches are added.
All levels
Light glove touch, block and jab battle with lead hands only.
No slapping. The lead hand should control space.
Intermediate
Step to correct lane, throw straight rear hand, exit away.
Do not let members fall across their stance.
Controlled partner work
One partner shows rear-hand line, boxer exits to the safe side and resets.
This is about safety and recognition, not sparring intensity.
Member note
When the stance changes, slow down and read the map: feet, lead hand, rear-hand lane, exit.
