If nerves, fitness level or not knowing what happens first are the blocker, start with the adult beginner hub.
Adult beginner boxing →What to expect from a session
Forget what you have seen on Instagram. This is not shadow boxing in a dark room with nightclub lighting. This is a proper boxing gym with proper coaches teaching you how to box properly.
Warm-up and movement
Skipping, footwork drills, dynamic stretching. Gets the heart rate up and loosens you out. Boxing footwork alone is a workout - you will feel your calves after the first session.
Technique rounds
Your coach teaches combinations - jab, cross, hook, uppercut - and you drill them on pads or bags. This is where you actually learn to box. Proper stance, proper guard, proper rotation through the hips.
Bag work and circuits
Three-minute rounds on the heavy bags, alternating with bodyweight exercises. Press-ups, sit-ups, burpees, squat jumps. This is the part that empties the tank. Work at your own pace - nobody is watching the clock except you.
Cool-down and stretch
Guided stretch to bring the heart rate down. Your coaches will check in, answer questions and make sure you are not dying. Most people are buzzing by this point.
Training around work
Find the boxing guide for your job
Desk work, shift work, trades and people-facing jobs all create different training problems. The worker guides show where boxing fits and whether group classes or private coaching make more sense.
View Boxing for WorkersWhy this beats a boxercise class
Boxercise gave people a taste of boxing training. We give you the real thing - minus the getting punched in the face part.

Crossbox / boxfit

- Fitness-first, boxing-second
Our recreational classes start from £10/session per session. No contracts. No joining fee. Pay as you go.

Who is fitness boxing for?
People who want to get fit
Bored of the treadmill? Boxing is the most engaging workout you will ever do. Your brain is so focused on technique that you forget you are exercising. An hour disappears.
People who want to learn a skill
Unlike most fitness classes, you actually learn something here. After a few months, you will know how to throw a proper combination, move around an opponent and defend yourself. That stays with you.
People fitting training around work
Desk jobs, shifts, trades and people-facing work all create different fitness problems. We have pulled the job-specific guidance into one place.
View boxing for workers →People leaving chain gyms
If you have been to a boxercise class at PureGym, David Lloyd or Virgin Active and thought "this is fun but I want the real thing," this is where you come next.
People who are nervous
Half the gym felt the same way before their first session. Boxing gyms have a reputation for being intimidating. Ours is not. We are a community club, not a fight factory. First session is free - come and see for yourself.
