Kids Boxing Classes Near Rotherhithe

Children who train at a proper boxing club learn more than how to punch. They learn to follow structured instruction, to manage effort, and to stay focused during a physically demanding session. These are habits that transfer into every area of their lives.

Honour and Glory Boxing Club runs children's boxing from 5pm on weekday evenings at 122 Broad Walk, Kidbrooke, SE3 8ND, about 22 minutes from Rotherhithe. Free parking is on site.

The Two Junior Programmes

The club runs separate sessions for two age groups, which means the instruction is appropriate to the age rather than a single mixed class.

Infants boxing takes children aged 5 to 9. At this stage the session covers movement, coordination, listening to instruction, and basic boxing technique. There is no contact sparring. The objective is to build physical confidence and lay a technical foundation that develops over time.

Juniors boxing is for ages 10 to 16. Sessions are more technically structured. Juniors with consistent attendance can develop towards light technical sparring and, if they choose, the club-level competition pathway through the ABA.

Both groups pay £10 per session with no contract or block booking required.

Coaching and Safety

All coaches are DBS checked. The club is ABA affiliated and coaches hold BBBofC licences. These are the standards you would look for at any serious boxing club.

Young boxer in training

The training environment is disciplined and structured. Boxing gyms are not chaotic spaces. Children are expected to listen and follow instruction, and coaches maintain the standard of behaviour in the session consistently.

From Rotherhithe

The 22-minute journey from Rotherhithe to Kidbrooke is manageable in the early evening. Canada Water to London Bridge by tube is quick, and from there a bus or train connects towards Kidbrooke. Families who prefer to drive will find the route straightforward via Deptford and Blackheath.

Families from Bermondsey and Deptford already make similar journeys for the children's programme. The quality of instruction is the consistent reason.

Starting Out

No experience is necessary. The infants class is open to children who have never been in a boxing gym before. Turn up on a weekday evening from 5pm with comfortable clothes and water.
