INFANTS BOXING
Ages 5-9 - Tue & Thu 5-6pm
£10/session
Your child doesn't need to be sporty, confident, or have any experience. Most of the kids who walk through our door are nervous on their first day. By the end of the session, they don't want to leave.
Our infants class is where 5-9 year olds learn real boxing basics - footwork, balance, hand-eye coordination - through structured drills and games. It's proper training, but it's also fun. The kids are moving, learning, and building habits that carry way beyond the gym.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS
WARM-UP (10 mins)
Running, jumping, animal walks. The coaches get the kids moving and laughing straight away. It burns off that after-school energy and gets them focused.
BOXING BASICS (25 mins)
Stance, guard, jab, cross - taught in small steps with lots of repetition. The coaches demonstrate, the kids copy, then practise on pads. We provide all the gloves and equipment.
GAMES & DRILLS (15 mins)
Reaction games, footwork challenges, team activities. This is where the skills get tested without the kids even realising they're training.
COOL-DOWN (10 mins)
Stretching and a chat. The coaches talk to the group about what they did well. Every kid gets acknowledged before they leave.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
THE SHY ONES
Kids who find team sports overwhelming. Boxing lets them work at their own pace while still being part of a group.
THE FULL-OF-ENERGY ONES
The ones who can't sit still. An hour of boxing gives them a proper outlet and teaches them to channel it.
THE CURIOUS ONES
Maybe they've seen boxing on TV and want to try. This is a safe, age-appropriate way to start.
COMPLETE BEGINNERS
No experience needed. No fitness level required. They just need to turn up.
WHAT PARENTS TELL US
Better focus at school. The discipline and listening skills transfer straight into the classroom.
More confidence. Learning a new skill and getting praise from coaches does wonders, especially for quieter kids.
Better coordination. The footwork, balance, and hand-eye coordination drills improve their movement across all activities.
Respect and discipline. They learn to listen, follow instructions, and treat others well. It's baked into how the class runs.
QUESTIONS PARENTS ASK
Will my child get hit?
No. There's no contact sparring in the infants class. They hit pads held by coaches and practise technique on bags. Safety comes first, always.
Do I need to buy gloves?
Not for starters. We have gloves and pads at the gym. If your child sticks with it, you might want to get them their own pair down the line, but there's no rush.
What should they wear?
Comfortable sportswear and trainers. Nothing fancy. Bring a water bottle.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes, parents are welcome to stay. There's a viewing area at the gym.
"The coaches genuinely care about every kid that walks through the door. It's not just boxing - it's community, mentorship, and building young lives."
