Boxing Near Shooters Hill (2026 Guide)
Shooters Hill sits above the A2 corridor with a clear view across south east London. The walk through Oxleas Woods or up past Severndroog Castle is one of the better things about living there. What the area has not had, until recently, is easy access to a proper boxing club.
Honour and Glory Boxing Club is four minutes away by car, or a short ride on the 486 or 89 bus. The gym is at 122 Broad Walk, Kidbrooke, SE3 8ND, with free parking on site.
Getting There From Shooters Hill
The quickest route is straight down the A207 and into Kidbrooke. By car you are looking at four minutes. The 486 links Shooters Hill directly to Kidbrooke. The 89 also serves the route from the Woolwich side of the hill.
Most members who live near Castle Wood or the top of the hill drive, park for free, and train.
What to Expect
Honour and Glory opened in 2020 and now has over 200 members. It is ABA affiliated with BBBofC licensed coaches. Sessions are structured: technique work, pad rounds, bag work, conditioning. Not a boxfit class. Not a cardio workout with gloves on.

If you have never boxed before, that structure matters. You will leave knowing how to throw combinations correctly, how to move your feet, and how to defend. Skills that take months to build in most sports start developing in a few sessions here.
Classes and Pricing
Recreational adult classes run Monday to Friday, 7:30pm to 9pm. The cost is ยฃ10 per session. No contract, no joining fee, no direct debit. You pay when you train.
Other options available from Shooters Hill:
- Women's boxing: Saturdays, 10:30am to 12pm, ยฃ10 per session
- Kids infants: ages 7 to 9, weekdays from 5pm
- Kids juniors: ages 10 to 16, weekdays from 5pm
The Gym Environment
The gym is in Kidbrooke, a developing part of south east London with regeneration well underway nearby. It is a functional, no-fuss boxing club in a community that takes sport seriously.
Shooters Hill residents who train here often mention that the drive down the hill clears their head before the session even starts. By the time they arrive, they are ready to work.
