Women's Boxing Near Plumstead
Plumstead and Woolwich are not short of fitness options, but women looking for proper boxing training rather than a cardio class with boxing movements will not find it locally. The nearest dedicated session is at Honour and Glory Boxing Club in Kidbrooke, 12 minutes from Plumstead.
The women's boxing session runs every Saturday, 10:30am to 12pm, at ยฃ10 per session.
What the Saturday Session Involves
This is structured boxing training. Not a fitness class, not a taster, not a circuit with boxing terminology attached. Women work through warm-up, footwork and movement drills, combination technique on the bags and pads, and conditioning work.
The coaches correct form and give feedback that builds over time. The technique you develop in the first few months is proper boxing technique. By three months in, most women are moving and hitting with skill they did not expect to have.
Who Trains Here
Women from across south east London, including Plumstead, Woolwich, and Abbey Wood. A range of ages and backgrounds. Some come for serious physical conditioning. Some are interested in self-defence and the confidence it builds. Some came for a trial and stayed because the Saturday session became a fixture in their week.

Several women who started as complete beginners have gone on to compete in ABA bouts. Most are not interested in competing. They train because the coaching is real and the community is straight.
The Environment
The gym is at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND, off the main road with free parking on site. It is not a converted warehouse pretending to be a boxing club. It was set up as a boxing club and that is what it is.
The Saturday session has a clear dynamic: coaches push, members work hard, and the atmosphere is direct without being unwelcoming.
