Boxing Near Lee Green (2026 Guide)

By H&G Team 2 min read 10 min drive from Lee

Lee has a lot going for it: Manor House Gardens, the Quaggy River, decent shops at Lee Green, and the kind of community feel that is harder to find closer to central London. What it does not have is a boxing club.

For residents who want proper boxing training rather than a fitness class that uses gloves as props, the answer is Kidbrooke. Honour and Glory Boxing Club is at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND. From Lee station it is a short hop on the Southeastern line to Kidbrooke.

Getting There From Lee

Train: Lee station to Kidbrooke on the Southeastern line toward Charing Cross. From Kidbrooke station, the gym is around a 10-minute walk or a quick bus ride.

Bus: The 178 runs between Lee and Kidbrooke. The journey takes roughly 10 minutes.

Car: Around 10 minutes via Eltham Road through to Kidbrooke Park Road. Free parking at the gym.

What You Find When You Get There

Honour and Glory opened in 2020. It now has over 200 members and coaches who hold ABA qualifications and BBBofC licences. This is not a franchised gym. It is an independent community boxing club.

Boxing session at H&G Kidbrooke

Sessions are structured around actual boxing training: technique work, pad work, bag rounds, conditioning. The method is the same whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has trained before and wants to pick it back up.

Who Trains Here From Lee

Young families from the Manor House Gardens end of Lee. Professionals who commute through Blackheath or London Bridge. People in their 40s and 50s who wanted a new physical challenge. The gym has 4.9 stars on Google from over 40 reviews, which for an independent boxing club is unusual.

The Lee Mindset

Lee has a self-contained quality that many SE London areas have lost. Residents tend to support independent businesses over chains. H&G fits that mindset: you pay per session, get a coach who knows your name, and train in a gym run by people who care about the sport.
