Boxing Near Kidbrooke Station (2026 Guide)
Kidbrooke station is eight minutes on foot from Honour and Glory Boxing Club. That is not marketing spin. It is a genuine walk down Broad Walk to number 122, SE3 8ND. If you live near Kidbrooke or commute through the station, you have a proper boxing gym on your doorstep.
The Walk From the Station
Come out of Kidbrooke station on the east side, head along Kidbrooke Park Road, and turn onto Broad Walk. The gym is on your left, next to the youth centre. You can do it in trainers carrying a bag without breaking a sweat. In the rain, it is still fine. There is no complicated route, no bus transfer, no second train.
For drivers, there is free parking at the gym. But honestly, if you live within a mile of Kidbrooke station, walking or cycling makes more sense.
What You Will Find

Honour and Glory is not a fancy gym with a smoothie bar. It is a boxing club. Ring, bags, pads, skipping ropes, and coaches who know what they are doing.
The gym is ABA affiliated. The coaches hold BBBofC licences. Head coach Anton Pattenden has built the club from nothing since 2020 into a 200-plus member community that trains everyone from infants to adults competing at national level.
The sessions are structured. You warm up, work technique, do pad rounds and bag work, finish with conditioning. Beginners get taught properly. Advanced boxers get pushed. Nobody gets ignored.
Classes and Times
Because you are so close, the full timetable is genuinely accessible:
- Infants (7-9): Tuesday and Thursday, 5pm-6pm
- Junior Recreational (10-16): Most weekdays from 5pm
- Junior Competitive (10-16): Mon/Wed/Fri 6pm-7:30pm
- Adult Recreational: Mon-Fri 7:30pm-9pm
- Adult Competitive (17+): Mon-Fri 7:30pm-9pm
- Open Sessions: Sat and Sun 8:30am-2:30pm
Being 8 minutes away means you can train more often without it eating into your evening. Finish work, walk over, train for 90 minutes, walk home. No commute overhead.

Pricing
Recreational adult classes are £10 per session. Amateur training is £5. Recreational juniors are £8.50. Infants are £8.50.
No contracts. No joining fee. No monthly direct debit. You pay per session and come when you want.
That model exists because the club was built as a community resource, not a profit machine. The pricing is set so that boxing is accessible to anyone in the area, regardless of income.
Why Kidbrooke Locals Train Here
For people living near Kidbrooke station, the convenience factor is obvious. But convenience alone does not keep people coming back. What does:
The coaching. There is a clear difference between a gym where someone shouts "go" and a gym where a coach watches your technique and tells you specifically what to fix. This is the latter. The coaches are invested in your progress, not just in filling the room.
The atmosphere. Serious during training, friendly before and after. There is no ego. First-timers train alongside people who have been coming for years. Parents bring their kids and sometimes end up signing themselves up too.
The progression. Start as a complete beginner in the recreational class. If you want to take it further, there is a pathway into amateur competition. If you do not, that is perfectly fine. The recreational programme stands on its own as a skill-building, fitness-focused experience.
Kidbrooke Village and the Local Area
Kidbrooke has changed significantly in the last decade. The Kidbrooke Village regeneration has brought thousands of new residents to the area, and with them a demand for local services and activities that go beyond chain restaurants and supermarkets.
Having an ABA-affiliated boxing club within walking distance of the station is exactly the kind of amenity that makes a neighbourhood work. It gives young people something constructive to do. It gives adults a physical and mental outlet. It creates community in a way that a gym chain never will.
For Families
If you are a parent near Kidbrooke station, the proximity makes the kids programme especially practical. Drop your child at infants boxing at 5pm, walk home, come back at 6pm. Or stay and watch. Some parents end up joining the adult session afterwards.
The kids programme is about more than boxing. It teaches listening, discipline, coordination, and respect. Several of our young boxers have gone on to represent the club at regional competitions.
Try It
You are 8 minutes away. There is literally no reason not to try it. Claim a free trial session, walk over after work or on a weekend morning, and see for yourself. No commitment, no hard sell. If you like it, come back. If you do not, you have lost nothing but an hour and some calories.
