The Right Place for Young Boxers

Most children's activity clubs are glorified babysitting. Boxing coaching done properly is not. It teaches discipline, physical awareness, and how to handle pressure - in a controlled environment where the coaches actually know what they are doing.

Honour and Glory runs junior boxing for children and young people aged 5 to 16 in Kidbrooke, SE3. For families in Greenwich, that is a four-minute drive or two stops on the Southeastern train from Greenwich station.

Age Groups

Junior boxing competition at Honour and Glory

The club splits its junior programme into two groups. Infants aged 7 to 9 train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 6pm. The infants boxing sessions focus on coordination, movement, and building the fundamentals without any contact sparring.

Juniors aged 10 to 16 attend the recreational junior sessions with a more structured boxing curriculum. At this age, controlled pad work, bag work, and supervised sparring become part of the programme for those who want to progress.

Qualified Coaching

Head coach Anton Pattenden leads a team of BBBofC-licensed, ABA-affiliated coaches. These are not fitness instructors who have done a one-day course. They are qualified boxing coaches who understand child development as well as boxing technique.

The club was founded in 2020 with a clear purpose: to serve the community rather than to make money.

Practical for Greenwich Families

Two stops from Greenwich station on Southeastern to Kidbrooke. The gym is an 8-minute walk from the station, or there is free parking at the youth centre if you are driving. The 178 bus runs from Greenwich town centre directly to near the gym.

Evening sessions run Monday to Thursday. Saturday mornings are also available. There are usually options that fit around school and family schedules. See the Greenwich area page for full directions.

Pricing

Junior sessions are ยฃ8.50 per session. Infants sessions are ยฃ8.50. No joining fee, no direct debit, no contract. You pay per session and stop whenever you like.

For context, that is significantly cheaper than most extracurricular activities in London, and the coaching quality is genuinely high. The club is community-focused, so pricing is kept fair by design.
