Sunday Boxing Classes Near Charlton
Sunday Is the Best Day to Start Boxing
Most people work Monday to Friday. They mean to get to a class all week and it never happens. Sunday is where good intentions actually become training sessions.
Honour and Glory runs open sessions every Sunday from 8:30am to 2:30pm. That is a six-hour window. Whether you want to come in for a quick bag session at 9am or stay for pads and sparring, the time is there.
What Happens at a Sunday Session

Sunday sessions are open format, which means you are not locked into a fixed class structure. Coaches are present and available, the bags are set up, pads get called, and the ring is in use. It is the closest thing to a proper training gym environment - not a franchise fitness class with background music.
For beginners, this is a good way to try things without the pressure of a scheduled class. You can work at your own pace, ask questions, and get your bearings. For regulars, it is an opportunity to put in extra work or focus on specific technical areas.
Getting There from Charlton
From SE7, the drive to Kidbrooke takes about 10 minutes. Head south on the A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach, pick up the A2 and exit at Kidbrooke. The gym is at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND, and there is free parking on site.
By bus, the 486 and 177 routes cover the area, with a journey of around 35 minutes. Sunday morning traffic is light, so timing is predictable.
Pricing
Sunday sessions cost £10 for adults (recreational). No membership required. No contract. If you want to try before committing, this is the session to attend.
Juniors pay £8.50 per session. Children aged 5-9 have separate infants sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings - see the infants boxing programme for details.
The Charlton Athletic Connection
Charlton Athletic and boxing have a lot in common: both working-class sports with serious local roots, both demanding discipline and repetition, both rewarding to those who actually turn up. The Valley is barely two miles from the gym.
If you have been active in sport before, you will find boxing adapts well to whatever base fitness you have. If you have not trained in years, Sunday is still the right place to start.
