Getting from Charlton to Honour and Glory

Charlton station is on the Southeastern line, running into London Bridge and Charing Cross. Getting from there to Honour and Glory in Kidbrooke by train involves a change at Lewisham, which adds time and complications to the journey. Honestly, most people coming from Charlton drive.

By car, head south on the A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach and pick up the A2 towards Eltham. Exit at Kidbrooke - the gym is on Broad Walk, and there is free parking on site. Door-to-door from SE7, you are looking at 10 minutes in normal traffic.

If you prefer public transport, the 486 or 177 bus will get you there in around 35 minutes. Put on some music, enjoy the ride, and arrive ready to train.

Why Make the Journey

Head coach Anton Pattenden has built something that takes training seriously without taking itself too seriously. The atmosphere is competitive where it needs to be and welcoming everywhere else.

The pricing is straightforward: £10 per session for recreational adults, £5 for amateur sessions. No contracts. No joining fee. You pay for what you attend.

Who Trains Here

The club takes everyone from age 5 upwards. Infants (5-9) train Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Juniors (10-16) and seniors (17+) have their own sessions across the week. There is also a Sunday open session running from 8:30am to 2:30pm, which is particularly popular with people who want flexibility.

People from Woolwich and Greenwich make this journey regularly. From Charlton, you are in similar territory, and the gym has become a real hub for south-east London boxing.
