About Dale Youth ABC
Dale Youth ABC has one of the most remarkable stories in London boxing. The club was based on the first floor of Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, having moved there in 2002. When the Grenfell Tower fire destroyed the building in June 2017, the club lost its home along with everything inside it.
After the fire, the Boxing community rallied around Dale Youth. BBC's DIY SOS built the club a new home at Bay20 - a community centre on Dalgarno Way in North Kensington, created specifically to serve the Grenfell community. The Bay20 building now houses Dale Youth ABC alongside other community services.
Long before Grenfell, Dale Youth had history going back to the 1960s when it operated from a hall on Walmer Road - what the Vice magazine described as "a rough, tough, hard-edged street with spit buckets of boxing history." The club has produced champions throughout its existence and remains one of the most meaningful community sports clubs in London. Training where the club has trained, given everything it has been through, means something.

Classes
Dale Youth runs competitive amateur boxing with a strong focus on youth development. The club is affiliated with England Boxing and competes within the London and national amateur boxing circuits. They welcome young people from the community and have a genuine open-door ethos.
Honour & Glory offers a broader programme: infants (from age 5), juniors, women's classes, recreational adults, competitive amateurs, and personal training. We cater equally to those who want to compete and those who simply want to train well.
Pricing
Dale Youth ABC's pricing isn't publicly listed - contact the club or visit Bay20 directly for current session fees.
Honour & Glory is pay as you go from £5 for juniors and amateurs, £10 for recreational adults. No joining fees, no annual subscription.
Location
Dale Youth's Bay20 home is in North Kensington, W10 - roughly 50 minutes from Kidbrooke by car, or a genuine hour-plus by public transport across Central London. It's the full width of the city.
This distance isn't a reason to avoid Dale Youth if you're in West London - it's genuinely worth visiting. But for SE London residents, commuting there for regular training isn't realistic.
Honour & Glory is in Kidbrooke, accessible from Blackheath, Eltham, Lee, and Greenwich in minutes.
Respect for What They Do
It would be wrong to write about Dale Youth without acknowledging what the club represents. They didn't just lose a gym in 2017 - they lost members of their community. The fact that the club survived, found a new home, and continues to serve young people in North Kensington is a testament to what boxing clubs genuinely mean to communities.
We share that belief at Honour & Glory. Boxing changes lives, builds character, and gives people a focus they might not find elsewhere. Both clubs operate from that same conviction.
The Verdict
Dale Youth ABC carries enormous meaning and delivers brilliant work in North Kensington. If you live in West London, visiting Bay20 and training there would be a privilege.
For South East Londoners, the distance is simply too great for weekly training. Honour & Glory offers a broader programme (ages 5+, recreational and competitive, women's classes), flexible pay-as-you-go pricing from £5, and a location that's actually local.
